Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

I have always been a very active person, but was never consistent in any type of workout that I had tried, until I was introduced to Farmgirlfit. I have tried many things, from a gym membership, spin classes, Bar Method, and even running, which is my least favorite thing to do. After my free trial class at FGF, I immediately signed up for three days per week. Then I came back the next day, and upgraded my membership to Unlimited. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself! I am grateful for my friends who referred me, to the coaches who motivate and support me each and every day, and to all the Farmgirlfit members who continue to inspire me!

If you could tell your Farmgirlfit story in 100 words or fewer, how would it read?

My Farmgirlfit story starts, I am sure, like many others…I wanted to try something new and different. FGF has definitely met that expectation. In my five months at FGF, I have never done the same workout twice. In the beginning, I did not want to look at the workout ahead of time, now I can’t go to sleep at night until I know what the next Grind is going to look like. I can say for certain that I am addicted, but not only to the workouts. I am addicted to the energy that FGF exudes to every person that walks through the door. It really is a sense of community and I am grateful to be a part of it!

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far?

Overall, I am proud of how much stronger I feel. Even more exciting is that I am just beginning my journey which means I will only be getting stronger!

Who/what inspires you to be fit?

How I feel when I am in shape or fit is what inspires me. FGF has not only helped my fitness, but also my strength. That, in turn, makes me feel like there is nothing I can’t do and that is a good feeling!

Favorite exercise at FGF is? Least favorite? 

My favorite exercise or workout is Tabata. I love the fast pace and that it incorporates a lot of different exercises into one workout. My least favorite is the power snatch. I am still working on technique. Once I am confident with that, I will be able to focus on adding weight.

When the Grind is kicking my butt, I’m thinking…

WTF?!? (Can I say that?) You don’t need to put that…just being honest! ;)

Favorite workout song?

Depends on my mood…I like a lot of base. I want to feel the music during a workout!

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is:

I have many favorite things about Farmgirlfit!!! If I have to pick one, I will say the energy/motivation/inspiration that I feel right when I walk in the door.

Do you have a funny Farmgirlfit story, or favorite memory?

I laugh everyday at FGF. The stories I have would have to be edited though, so I will just leave it at that. :)

How has the rest of your life been influenced/impacted by Farmgirlfit?

I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed working out or looked forward to working out until FGF. It is my goal to get to FGF five days per week. In the past, I would work out if I had time. Now, I make time. I plan my day around which Farmgirlfit class I am attending. Physically, I feel stronger! Emotionally, I feel happier! Mentally, I am more accepting of my body!

When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like?

When I am not at FGF, I love being at home with my husband Clint, and two boys Jase and Trev. During the weekdays it is work/school, and the evenings are spent carpooling the boys to each of their sporting activities. On the weekends, it is games or tournaments that occupy most of our time. We always find time for fun. It might be small weekend getaways or a favorite restaurant for dinner. We usually end up at Flying Goat, but have recently added Ginger Asian Bistro to our selection list. In the summer we spend as much time as we can at the lake. It is definitely our favorite time of year!

Words that inspire me?

All words that are heartfelt!

Guilty pleasure:

Chips and gauc, fried rice, and of course wine!

My trademark dance move:

I will dance anywhere and anytime, but I don’t have a trademark goal!

My favorite holiday and why:

Fourth of July. It is the kick off to summer. We spend it with as many family and friends as possible. The more the merrier. Food, drinks, fireworks…what’s not to love!?!?

My healthy indulgence:

Hard to choose, but one I have been most consistent with is a facial every six weeks!

Any advice for new members or your fellow farmgirls?

I would tell new members to be consistent and celebrate all their successes, however small or big they may seem. I would want them to know how much support they will feel while being at FGF and sometimes you will rely on that to get through a tough Grind.

I really just want to genuinely say THANK YOU to everyone that makes Farmgirlfit operate on a daily basis!!!!! Lots of love to all…
