Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

In my ‘youth’ I banged my body up ski racing (2 ACLs, rotator cuff, 2 ankles....) The surgeries/injuries healed and didn’t really bother me until about 7 years ago, while fly-fishing in the middle of a river in Montana. For the first time in my life I felt unsteady and knew that I needed to get strong or else I could get hurt. I had always run and worked out but knew I needed more specific training. So I signed up for personal training with Liz. She was so darn perky, I had to love it. A while later, she was hired at Farmgirlfit when it opened, and so I followed her here!

If you could tell your Farmgirlfit story in 100 words or fewer, how would it read?

Confessions of a Lightweight
First FGF workout: These women are younger by 20 to 30-some years and waaayyy stronger.  They are all different sizes, athletic, determined and kind. Amazingly, they don’t seem to mind working out next to this older, slower lightweight.  Immediately I find I am the worst at almost every exercise listed in the Grind... I hate that. I am peeved at how competitive I feel and realize I have rarely been in a position of not being the best, or at least semi-ok, at something. And these girls are running circles around me...but they smile and high-five me and the Coaches say ‘good-job’ like I’m normal. So, I’m learning humility as I grow stronger with tough, beautiful women. Now, I actually feel just fine being the lightweight. Thank you Farmgirls!

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far?

Climbing those f*!ing  ropes!!!

What are your next health and fitness goals?

Staying strong till I’m 97!

Favorite exercise at FGF is? Least favorite?

I can’t believe I love sit-ups! Turkish Get-Ups are my nemesis.

When the Grind is kicking my butt, I’m thinking…

"I’ll be done soon." - If you just keep repeating it, at some point it will be true!

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is:

Getting stronger!

How has the rest of your life been influenced/impacted by Farmgirlfit?

I don’t get hurt at work lifting 50lb bags of beans and flour. Truly, it’s so practical!

When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like?

I work at Christ Kitchen. My 95-pound puppy and I go on long hikes. I’m working on ordination in the Covenant Church. I do all kinds of art work – currently making purses out of old cowboy boots and beading gourds.

As a kid I dreamt I would grow up to be:

A barrel racer

Team I’m always rooting for:

Zags 💙❤️

My hero is

Corrie ten Boom
