In celebration of our newest challenge at Farmgirlfit, we’d like to add a little twist to the popular children’s nursery rhyme, Farmgirl-style: row, row, row your boat… a half a million meters!

That’s right, get ready for a fun new TEAM challenge, kicking off Monday, Jan. 19th at Farmgirlfit: The Half Million Meter Team Rowing Challenge!

Here’s how it works:

1.      Form a rowing team, of 5-7 ladies (FGF members only), and give it an awesome name. If you want to be on a team, volunteer your name on the sign-up sheet at the gym and expect to be drafted.

2.      Starting on Jan. 19th, teams will start logging how many meters they rowed on your team poster, which will be on display at the gym. Row in the workout? How about the warm-up? Or a cool-down row? We’ll give you plenty of time on the rowers, and you’ll log your work, adding to a running cumulative team total. You can only log meterage while you’re at one of the FGF locations (or if you’re traveling, post a picture of your meterage).

3.      Keep your team motivated by posting rowing updates to using the general rowing challenge hashtag, #FarmgirlfitRows, and create a special hashtag for your team. Make sure your hashtag is written on your team poster so we can all stay connected.

4.      Row, row, row until your team hits 500,000 meters. Oh yeah, and there will be PRIZES! We’ll provide challenges and random giveaways to keep you motivated to keep rowing! The team to reach 500,000 meters first will not be disappointed.

As the challenge is getting started, we’ll also hold rowing efficiency seminars at both the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene locations. If you’re going to be rowing your share of 500,000 meters you might want to make sure you’re as productive as possible; working at maximum efficiency. Mastering the machine might be the missing the link in learning to respect and love the erg after all! Make sure to sign up for a seminar, as space is limited at both Farmgirlfit locations. Come prepared to soak in some great tips and row technique. Remember: Every meter counts!

Spokane:   Saturday, January 24th  12 – 3:00 pm

Kari Durgan, Gonzaga University Rowing Coach will be hosting 30 minute training sessions. Max of 12 people per session.

Coeur d’Alene:   Saturday, January 24th 11:30-12:30 & 12:30-1:30 pm

The Coeur d’Alene Rowing Association will be hosting 2, one hour sessions. Max of 12 people per session.
