Name and age: Marcia Heglie, 40

Occupation: Personnel Administrator, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office
Tell us about how you came to Farmgirlfit: Kathy Lankford, my co-worker and workout partner, told me that she was leaving our current gym to go to this new gym, Farmgirlfit, when it opened in October. My response to her was, “I’m going with you”. We were both fortunate to join as founding members.
What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far? Rowing 1000M in under 4:00 minutes. (I dislike rowing)
Who inspires you to be fit? This may sound funny, but I am my own inspiration. At one point in my life I tipped the scales at 235 lbs. One day I had a wakeup call and decided that that wasn’t the person or the role model that I wanted to be for myself or my children. Through changing my eating habits and exercise, I am happy to say that I am by far the healthiest and the strongest that I have ever been.
Words that inspire me? “Never, never, never give up.” Winston Churchill
What are your next health and fitness goals? My goal is to continue to improve my form, increase levels and continue to push myself out of my comfort zone.
Favorite exercise at FGF is: Ummmm…. That’s a hard one to answer. Tempo back squats I would say are one of my favorites.
Least favorite exercise at FGF is: TGU’s…. I know that I am not alone in this. :)
When the Grind is kicking my butt, I’m thinking… Just breathe…take a second or two to breathe… and then get back on it!
My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is: The camaraderie amongst members and the wonderful coaches. There is such a feeling of accomplishment when finishing a Grind.
When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like? My life outside of FGF is spent working hard at my job and spending time with my family and friends.
My happy place is: At home, sitting outside with a cup of coffee, enjoying the countryside landscape.
What advice do you have for new members? Don’t be hard on yourself if you don’t get it at first. Keep trying and you will see results!
