Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

I was working out at another gym, doing group fit classes. The hour-long classes seemed to drag on and on and I was ready for something new and challenging.  My friend, Andrea (who is also a current FGF member), wanted to try out Farmgirlfit. I was skeptical about it, but said I would go try a free class with her. I fell in love with everything about it: the coaches, the members, the entire atmosphere.

If you could tell your Farmgirlfit story in 100 words or fewer, how would it read?

I check out the workout the night before when it is posted. I always say to myself, “This is going to be tough.” But, I always find a way to push myself and make it through.

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far?

I am finally able to run a mile without stopping! Overall, I am amazed at how strong I have become.

What are your next health and fitness goals?

I would like to be able to do a Spartan Race, and maybe compete at a lifting meet.

Favorite exercise at FGF is? Least favorite?

My favorite exercise is definitely clean and jerk. It is so challenging and there are so many components to remember while doing it; I love it. My least favorite is a toss-up between plate pushes and burpees. They are both terrible. 😝

When the Grind is kicking my butt, I’m thinking…

It’s only an hour, it’s only an hour.

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is:

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is the camaraderie. I remember my first day, we did plate pushes. I was moving slow and the other girls were so supportive and cheered me on. I was impressed with their willingness to stop and cheer on a complete stranger. We have different jobs, we come from different backgrounds, but I look forward to seeing these girls, and to welcoming new ones too! We're all here trying to do our best, trying to be our best!

How has the rest of your life been influenced/impacted by Farmgirlfit?

I feel a lot more energized and willing to get up and go do something outdoors. I have realized exercise does not have to be boring or tedious; it can be a lot of FUN and rewarding!

Do you have a funny Farmgirlfit story, or favorite memory?

There was the one time that I was doing jumping slam balls and threw the slam ball into the back of my head. Or, the other time I stepped on the hurdle doing lateral hops and smashed it into a millions pieces. 🤦‍♀️

I’m proud…

That I continue to come back and do not give up.

When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like?

I love to bike, kayak, and just be outdoors. I am currently working on building an automated garden. I also love to cook and bake, especially for a crowd.

My happy place is:

On my bike.

Team I’m always rooting for:

Zags Basketball!
