Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

I was on a competitive swim team when I was younger. I lifted weights in high school and did some mini triathlons. I swam a little in college, and did group exercise classes and A LOT of the stair master and walking. I do best when someone says this is what you’re doing today so go do it! Which is why when I saw an ad for FGF on Facebook I knew I had to join and I have never looked back! That was 4 years ago, almost to the date!

If you could tell your Farmgirlfit story in 100 words or fewer, how would it read?  

Life altering! FGF saved me. I went from being unhappy, out of shape, miserable and unwilling to accept my body for what it is to being the strongest I have been in my entire life. I am FINALLY ok with my body. FGF pushes me to do things I never thought I could (Hello 24” Box Jumps). When I changed my membership to Unlimited about a year ago, I noticed my biggest gains since I joined FGF. Consistency is huge. When I get in 4 -5 Grinds a week, I notice my endurance going up and my lifts getting heavier.

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far?

I have to pick 1? Running a mile in under 10 minutes and 24” Box Jump. FINALLY feeling like I can workout at Level 3 consistently.

What are your next health and fitness goals?

Squat and Deadlift my bodyweight.  Also kipping pull-ups.

Favorite workout song?

Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore and Pandora’s Hip Hop BBQ Station!

Favorite exercise at FGF is:  

Deadlifts, all lifting really. And TABATA’s!

Least favorite exercise at FGF is:

BURPEES … no explanation needed

When the Grind is kicking my butt, I’m thinking… 

Are they really serious? Wait, that was just the warm up? Ok one rep at a time. You can do this. Just breathe. WTF? I want to die. Ok almost there. I can do it. WOW THAT WAS FREAKING AMAZING! I ROCK!

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is:

The Coaches and the amazing community they have created. I enjoy seeing the coaches and fellow farmgirls that I have become friends with each day.

How has the rest of your life been influenced by Farmgirlfit?

FGF has impacted my life in a huge way! I am happier and healthier when I work out. I am also reminded daily by my fellow FGF girls what it is to live a positive life. Working out not only impacts my physical health but my mental health as well which plays a huge role in all our daily lives. I am the happiest I have ever been. I owe a lot of that to my daily workout!

When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like? 

I spend most of my time with my boyfriend and his daughter. When we are not working we try to have fun! We attend all the Seahawks home games. In the summer we try to spend as much time as we can at the area lakes. We recently moved so we have been spending a lot of time remodeling and updating our house.

My happy place is:

Toes in the sand, sun on my face, beer in my hand.

As a kid I dreamt I would grow up to be:

A nurse, like my Mom…she’s my hero!

You might not know this about me:

I have attended 2 Seahawks Super Bowls…GO HAWKS!!

My trademark dance move: 

I’m not sure which is my trademark but I know Shelli and Sav like my moves!

Any advice for new members or your fellow farmgirls?

Just keep showing up. The hardest part is showing up! Don’t compare yourself to others. Each woman at FGF is on her own journey. Don’t worry if you are the last one done or don’t lift as much as the girl next to you. This is YOUR workout!
