I have always been interested in being active. I played competitive fast pitch softball throughout my school years. Along with that, I have been involved with nearly all popular forms of exercise. To date my favorite activities are walking, bicycling, yoga, and now my Farmgirlfit classes.
I decided to give Farmgirlfit a try after hearing of a friend's experience. I needed something more efficient than spending countless hours at the gym and seeing no results.
While I’ve been into fitness most of my life, the last 5 years life has thrown me some curve balls, including several medical issues, that have made it difficult to achieve the fitness level I prefer. In addition to that, a busy career and family demands made workout time very limited. When I started, I couldn’t even make my body do a clean or a snatch, let alone add on the weights. But having thorough instruction on every move, every class, I gradually got it figured out. I’ve consistently showed up 2-3 times per week and it has paid off. A year later, I know all of the moves, but still love to have them broken down with proper form every time.
My favorite accomplishments at FGF are being able to climb the rope and do a handstand!
I will continue with Farmgirlfit, attending classes 3 days a week as much as possible with my extremely busy career that includes frequent travel. I will add in walking, biking, and yoga as often as I can as well.
Favorites: wall balls and kettlebells! Least favorite: RUNNING
THE COACHES!!! These ladies make this place amazing. They are all very knowledgeable, inspirational, fun, and uplifting. They are always coming up with creative ways to inspire members and to make the workouts the most effective. Famous phrase have stuck with me like: “You can do anything for a minute!” After getting to know me, coaches will nudge me to add more weight, try the highest level on the box jump, or come up with a modification for an exercise I’m unable to do.
My other favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is that it works! I have tried many programs and spent a lot of hours working at the gym without near the results I have seen with consistent class attendance just 2-3x a week. That is literally just 2-3 hours a week! While I don’t think I have lost a significant amount of weight, my clothes fit better and I feel stronger and healthier. That is the most important thing for me.
I feel stronger and have more energy overall. My mood is always better after class as well.
My life is insanely busy with my demanding job. I travel all over the Inland Northwest and am away from home multiple nights most weeks. In addition to that, I spend a lot of time with my son, friends and other family members. I also play softball during the summer and fall months.
Just keep coming and do what your body needs during every workout. Don’t be concerned with what weight the others are using or if your time isn’t the fastest. The consistency of showing up is what will produce results!
