Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

Growing up, I was active playing sports. I played soccer and fast pitch through high school. I have always been fairly active, but I hated lifting weights. I would simply go to the gym and do 45-60 minutes of cardio and call it good. After having children I felt like I needed my body back. I tried different gym challenges throughout Spokane, and did well with them, but never stayed motivated to keep up the routine. Running into one of the Farmgirl coaches [ahem, Sav] every once in a while, and after talking with my husband, I decided to give it a try this past December. I am so glad I made the commitment. I have enjoyed these past 5 months and look forward to many more. Excited to see where this journey is going to take me.

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far?

Hard to think about….I would say to successfully do multiple weighted squats without my knees hurting.

What are your next health and fitness goals?

Health: Focusing on losing inches around my mid-section. Fitness: Competing in a Tough Mudder in September, and to be able to do 1 unassisted pull-up!!!

Favorite exercise at FGF? Least favorite?

I enjoy the circuits that have combinations of exercises. Least favorite are burpees and pull-ups! I conveniently missed The Grind this week that contained both of those movements…it was my birthday and I opted for a facial and massage! =)

When the Grind is kicking my butt, I’m thinking…

How many more??? It is almost over!!!

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is:

The atmosphere! The coaches and other members are extremely encouraging. Everyone makes the workouts fun and exciting and they are NEVER boring. The coaches challenge you and push you to a higher level, which often times I need.

How has the rest of your life been impacted by Farmgirlfit?

Since joining Farmgirlfit I have more energy, can keep up with my kids after working all day and am overall a happier, healthier person. It is also nice to be able to help my husband around the house with heavier lifting. =)

Do you have a funny Farmgirlfit story?

I do not know how funny it is really, buuut battle wounds from box jumps …. (known as the girl with the block spots on my shins)

When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like?

I try to get 2-3 days of interval running in for more cardio, enjoying time with my husband, 4 and 2 year old little girls, and teaching my amazing students.

My happy place is:

Somewhere warm, close to water.

Team I’m always rooting for:

Go PACK Go!!!! Aaron Rogers is my NFL boyfriend =)

Guilty pleasure:

Frozen yogurt and popcorn

Any advice for new members or your fellow farmgirls?

Hang in there, it is so worth it!
