“I never really enjoyed working out or made time to work out before Farmgirlfit, so my favorite thing about FGF is how much stronger and healthier I feel just over the short course that I have been coming!”

Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

Growing up and throughout high school exercising was always easy because it revolved around sports. Once I left for college, I stopped working out consistently. The extent of my exercise in Pullman consisted of being an intramural all star at WSU, taking home a couple championships! πŸ˜‚ I didn’t gain the freshman 15… but I knew I needed to start working out again when I was out of breath walking up campus to my classes. Being fit is different than being skinny! So once I moved back to Spokane to attend pharmacy school I knew I wanted to find a place where I could workout to build muscle and have fun while doing it.

If you could tell your Farmgirlfit story in 100 words or fewer, how would it read?

A big thank you to #bossyaunttina! She continually tried to convince me to come with her to Farmgirlfit, and after talking my ear off non-stop about the workouts and how much fun she always had, I finally gave it a shot. After going to my first free class, I totally understood what the ruckus was about! #FGFforlife

Now, I would not be able to go back to a “normal” gym. The energy and variety of fun and great people you meet at FGF can’t be replaced! It is always the best way to start or end my day! 😊

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far?

After doing banded pull-ups for about a year, I randomly gave kipping pull-ups a try, AND I DID IT! Also, max height box jumps. I’m not sure what height I got to, but Tina recorded me and sent it out to almost everyone we know, so I think she was impressed! β˜ΊοΈ

What are your next health and fitness goals?

Not die while running. If I HAVE to run that is…I really need to build endurance! I also want to keep building on heavier lifts and pushing myself to go a little heavier rather than wimping out to a lower weight!

Favorite workout song?

Whatever station Sav always plays!

Favorite exercise at FGF is? Least favorite?

Favorite: Power cleans!

Least favorite: Turkish get-ups

Will never be a favorite: Running πŸƒ‍β™€οΈπŸ˜

When the Grind is kicking my butt, I’m thinking…

“Gosh I should have skipped today lol” but at the end it always makes me feel great!

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is:

I never really enjoyed working out or made time to work out before Farmgirlfit, so my favorite thing about FGF is how much stronger and healthier I feel just over the short course that I have been coming! I also really love not having to think of a workout by myself. Just being able to show up and always get a good workout in with the most encouraging coaches is the best feeling, even while I feel like they’re kicking my butt.

How has the rest of your life been influenced/impacted by Farmgirlfit?

Well first, I get so many compliments from people on my back muscles; well actually just my aunt and boyfriend, but still, lol...  I always make a genuine effort to get to the workouts and FGF has helped me change my perception of exercise and how fun exercising can be!

When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like?

I am finishing up a Doctorate of Pharmacy at WSU, so I spend a lot of my day on my current rotations at Sacred Heart. I love the summer time because it means going to the lake on the weekends! I am currently trying to get better at wake surfing! πŸ„‍♀️ It’s not going so well. 🀷‍♀️

My happy place is:

Diamond Lake

Words that inspire me?

AF

Guilty pleasure:

Bread and the drunken clams from Remedy

Team I’m always rooting for:

Gonzaga and the COUGS

I’m proud…

That I have kept with working out with FGF for almost two years, and am making progress towards where I want to be!

You might not know this about me:

I’m a twin! If I look weak, tired, or if I don’t say hi back to you, it’s probably Taylor! πŸ˜‰ JK, sorry Tay, you brought Kaisa, so you are cool.

Any advice for new members or your fellow farmgirls?

Don’t be intimidated when you walk in for the first time; everyone is there to support you and encourage you! You might die the first couple of weeks, but if you keep up with it, you won’t want to stop talking about it like my Aunt Tina, Katie and I do in our constant group text! πŸ—£οΈ πŸ’œ
