I played competitive sports in high school, but in college and beyond, working out on my own just wasn’t the same. I fell into a pattern of joining a gym for a few months, spin classes, hours on the treadmill, etc. I knew I wanted something more, something different! A few of my Spokane friends had joined Farmgirlfit, and I was so impressed with their progress, I decided to give it a try. I was hooked after my first visit, I signed up right then and haven’t looked back! Two and a half years ago! 😯
I joined Farmgirlfit when my twins were 10 months old and I needed ME time! I was not doing a great job of taking care of myself and I needed to do something about that. Initially, it was very challenging to fit FGF into my schedule between work and kids’ schedules. I almost gave up, but I kept going. I would show up sometimes only once or twice a week, but I. Showed. Up! Eventually I started working my life schedule around my workout schedule. Farmgirlfit has changed my life! I’m not only the fittest I’ve ever been, but my confidence and body image issues have all but gone away. (oops that’s 110 words) 😊
When I first joined I wasn’t even able to accomplish most level 1 workouts and my form and mobility needed a lot of work. Now I am consistently doing level 3 and 4. Pull-ups were a big accomplishment for me too!
Hit a 200lb back squat and get my nutrition on track! I’m really excited for The Underwire program!
Definitely my kids, I want them to see strong is awesome!
Favorite: Slam balls, Squats, Cleans, Strict Press, Push-ups, most anything with a kettlebell (see next 😜)
Least: Double Unders, TGU’s
Anything where I am unable to hear my own heavy breathing. Really, anything loud enough to drown that out!
How many more reps? How many more minutes? I’m not sure I can do this. I can totally do this. Wait, Mary added more weight to my bar. I’m not sure I can do this. I can totally do this.
The community vibe! Regardless of individual goals or backgrounds, we are all there with the overall goal to improve our health and fitness, and everyone is supportive and encouraging. The coaches are amazing!
So on the first day, after the warm up, I thought that MUST be the whole workout; I was exhausted!
That was the only workout I didn’t finish, and I was terribly sore for a week afterwards! I knew this would be a big challenge and I love a big challenge.
My husband no longer calls the neighbor guy to come help him move heavy objects. His favorite line is, “I need some farmgirl strength!” 💪 💜
So busy! I have a 6yr old and 3yr old twins and work full time. My husband and I have an amazing support system of family and friends. It’s a whirlwind most of the time, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
