Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

I’ve always loved to be active, although I was never an athlete. I like to joke that I was the designated bench warmer at any sport I tried… SO I decided to focus my exercise regime on things I could do alone: home workouts, RUNNING, etc… Everything was cardio based and I had never really touched a weight or barbell because I was afraid of the stereotype of lifting heavy things and in turn getting bulky. Carmen Woolman invited me to a couple weekend Grinds, and from there on I was hooked (and eternally grateful!). I demolished what I had assumed in my head about weight lifting, have grown SO much stronger, and have found myself a community of women who build each other up every single day!

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far?

Honestly, my biggest accomplishment through fitness has all been mental. I’ve learned that exercise should not be used as a punishment for poor food choices, or a means to look like a social media picture, but rather it is a chance to show our bodies some healthy love, move, challenge ourselves (physically and mentally), grow, and find positive relationships in a sweat community that builds each other up!

 

Who/what inspires you to be fit?

My little boys!!! How cool is it that they can see mamma working out and I get to be that first healthy influence for them!? Because I stay active and fuel my body with good things, I have the energy to chase them, play with them, and just keep up in general!

What are your next health and fitness goals?

I want to be able to run a half marathon!

Favorite workout song?

Stronger, Kanye West

Favorite exercise at FGF is? Least favorite?

Favorite- Any kettlebell work! Least Favorite- Single-Leg Deadlifts and Back Squats, BUT I’m trying to like them more! 😉

When the Grind is kicking my butt, I’m thinking…

“This is only one hour of my day, I have 23 more to relax if I really need it!”

My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is:

The people! Never have I ever met a more personable, encouraging, and genuine group of women!

How has the rest of your life been influenced/impacted by Farmgirlfit?

I am just overall so much stronger than I ever thought! My whole entire view on weights and lifting heavy things has completely changed!

When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like?

A chaotic circus! A constant juggle of all things toddler-mom, wife business owner, superhero…and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

My happy place is:

Lululemon?? 😜 Kidding (kind of)… Sea Ranch, California… out walking by the ocean!

As a kid I dreamt I would grow up to be:

Hairdresser 💇 🙋‍♀️

You might not know this about me: 

I always said I’d get married and have kids in my 30s… Well, I got married at 19 and had my first 2 months before my 21st birthday! And I wouldn’t have it any differently!

Words that inspire me?

I’m proud…

Of myself, for making the time each morning to have 100% me time doing something good for my mind and body! A refreshed and refueled mamma makes for a happier mamma. ;)

Team I’m always rooting for:

Will it get me in trouble if I say I don’t really follow sports???? 🤷‍♀️

My hero is:

My parents – the most humble, down to earn, compassionate people EVER!

My trademark dance move:

Yikes! I don’t dance well…at all. 😬 😂

My favorite holiday and why:

Christmas! It is so magical, everywhere you go is lit up and beautiful! You just can’t beat that!

Guilty pleasure:

Red wine

My favorite post workout meal:

2 scrambled eggs over a sweet potato and arugala hash with avocado and hot sauce!!! Or a chocolate sea salt RxBar!

My healthy indulgence:

Wellness Bar Acai bowls or apple slices with RxBars vanilla almond butter

Any advice for new members or your fellow farmgirls?

Don’t bash it ‘til you try it! The coaches explain everything super well, help you if you need modifications or don’t understand something, and take the time to get to know you!

You WON’T regret coming! You WILL regret not coming! 😉
