“The friendships and encouragement from all the women make it so much more than just a gym. When the Grind is kicking my butt, I just remember that this is why I'm stronger now than I've ever been.”

Occupation:

I worked as a NICU nurse for 10 years before deciding to have babies. Now I'm a stay-at-home mom. My husband David and I have been married for 17 years, and have lived all over the country.

Tell us about your fitness journey. How did you come to Farmgirlfit?

I've always been kind of an exercise junkie. I was obsessed with trail running and hot yoga but after having my first baby, I found that it was really difficult to do those things with an infant! Ha!! What I needed was a quick and effective workout. Preferably one with childcare. Farmgirlfit is just that and more - from the free child care provided (by awesome fellow Farmgirls) to the carefully planned workouts. The friendships and encouragement from all the women make it so much more than just a gym. When The Grind is kicking my butt, I just remember that this is why I'm stronger now than I've ever been.

What has been your greatest fitness/performance accomplishment so far?

My greatest FGF accomplishment would have to be a legless rope climb. Maybe someday I'll be able to do double-unders???

Favorite exercise at FGF is? Least favorite?

I actually LOVE plate pushes – yes they’re hard and well, terrible, but that’s why I love them. They’re so simple and just kick your butt! Lindsay and I had a little wager recently, and I WON, so for the whole month of July, she hasn’t been able to write her scores on the board, which actually hasn’t been quite as satisfying as anticipated.

Do you have a funny Farmgirlfit story, or favorite memory?

Besides beating Lindsay 😉 this one isn’t necessarily related to FGF, but did happen there: I was explaining that I didn't eat meat and a friend said, "But you eat Elk, right?" … You know you’re in north Idaho when… 😂

Who/what inspires you to be fit?

My parents definitely inspire me to stay healthy and fit. They are in their mid-sixties and still in fantastic shape.

My happy place is:

A mountain trail.

Guilty pleasure:

Definitely chocolate! I have to have some every day.

My spirit animal and why:

Spider monkey!

You might not know this about me:

My Instagram name comes from a rescue Cornish Rex cat that we used to have. He was deaf so we named him Deafcon. And he was the COOLEST animal I've ever met.
