Tell us about how your journey led you to Farmgirlfit?
I’ve always been pretty active throughout my life. It helps when you have an amazing twin sister (Christina) who shares your same passion. We … yes I refer to myself as “we” have been running for years and years and have always wanted something more. While at grad school I met an amazing lady, Heather Dresback (current member) who had talked about this gym called Farmgirlfit. Shortly after having my first baby I knew I wanted something different to help get me back in shape. So, of course I spoke to my sister and convinced her to try it with me. I’ll never forget my first day…Turkish get-ups and lunges. I was hooked!
What has been your greatest fitness (performance) accomplishment so far?
225-pound deadlift one rep max….while 7 months pregnant. Don’t ask me how — future Farmgirl helped me out on this one!
My funny Farmgirlfit story?
I regularly pee my pants. Yes, true story. If you see me running to the bathroom it’s because I’m about to burst! I suppose motherhood is to blame for this one.
What are your next health and fitness goals?
My next health and fitness goals are to continue having a healthy pregnancy with eating right and working out regularly. I also hope to come back shortly after this little bundle is born and get right back to the Grind!
Favorite exercise at FGF is: squats...any exercise with the word squat in it is great in my book!
Least favorite exercise at FGF is: Lately it’s been box jumps…its difficult jumping for two :)
My favorite thing about Farmgirlfit is: The loving/caring atmosphere of the trainers and members. I am certain you will never find a gym quite like farmgirlfit.
When you're not pumping iron at FGF, what does the rest of your life look like?
I am a busy mommy of one amazing toddler (kind of sums it up). When I’m not working I love spending time with my family. Love movie nights and date nights with the hubby. I also love having Lifetime movie marathon nights with my mom and sister.
What advice do you have for new members?
STICK WITH IT! It may seem hard at times … well, it’s always hard — but keep pushing yourself and you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.
